In Durostorum, Emilian, a brave young man, shattered pagan idols during a festival. Arrested and questioned by the magistrate, he confessed his faith in Christ. Despite threats and torture, Emilian refused to renounce his beliefs. Enraged, the magistrate ordered him to be burned alive. As the flames consumed him, Emilian praised God, and his soul departed to eternal life.
