As Metropolitan, he championed Romanian against Slavonic in the church, translating and publishing liturgical texts, including the Psalter in verse—a cultural cornerstone. Facing Polish invasion, he sheltered with King Jan Sobieski, sharing Moldavian treasures and wisdom.
