In the time of Emperor Decius, Romulus and Silvanus were arrested for their Christian faith. They were brought before the governor, who tried to persuade them to renounce Christ. The governor offered them riches and honors, but the saints remained steadfast. They confessed their belief in Jesus Christ and refused to worship idols. Enraged, the governor ordered them to be tortured. They endured beatings, and the searing of their bodies with fire. Still, they would not deny Christ. Finally, they were beheaded, receiving the crown of martyrdom. Holy Martyrs Romulus and Silvanus, pray to God for us!
