On this day, we remember Martyrs Donat and Venust!

In the Roman Empire, during the reign of Emperor Claudius Gothicus, Donat served as a bishop in Arezzo, Italy. With his deacon Venust, Donat preached the Gospel openly. Arrested for their faith, they refused to sacrifice to pagan gods. Miraculously, after Donat prayed, they restored sight to a blind woman. When the persecutors brought forth a man possessed by a demon, Donat commanded the demon to depart in the name of Jesus Christ, and the man was healed. Enraged, the governor ordered their execution. Donat and Venust were beheaded, receiving their heavenly crowns.

Let us pray to Donat and Venust, that through their intercessions, we may stand firm in our faith and witness to the truth of Christ, even unto death.
