Saint Visarion of Lainici, a Romanian monk, faced Turkish persecution for his faith in the 18th century. He was falsely accused and imprisoned. During his trial, he fearlessly confessed his Orthodox Christian beliefs, refusing to convert to Islam. He was tortured and beheaded for his unwavering faith. His relics are said to be miraculous, especially aiding the sick.
