Saint Liviu Galaction was arrested in May 1960 and faced relentless interrogation and torture for his unwavering faith. Despite immense pressure, he refused to renounce his beliefs or betray his fellow Christians. He endured beatings, sleep deprivation, and psychological manipulation. In August 1960, he was sentenced to 18 years of forced labor. He was transferred to various prisons, where he continued to minister to other inmates, offering them spiritual guidance and comfort.
