During a Tatar invasion, Saint Gherasim of Tismana, despite his advanced age, courageously led the defense of his monastery. He stood before the invaders, holding a cross and fearlessly rebuking their attacks. Witnessing his unwavering faith, the Tatars hesitated, and a thick fog miraculously enveloped the monastery, obscuring it from view. The invaders, bewildered and terrified, retreated, saving the monastery from destruction. Saint Gherasim's bravery and piety became a beacon of hope for his community, solidifying his legacy as a protector of the faithful. Saint Gherasim, pray to God for us!
