In 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia and his four sons—Constantin, Stephen, Radu, and Mathew—were summoned to Istanbul by Sultan Ahmed III. Despite attempts to secure their conversion to Islam with promises of wealth and safety, they refused to renounce their Christian faith. On August 15, the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos, they were beheaded in front of each other. Constantin, the father, was the last to be killed, encouraging his sons to remain steadfast till the very end, for their reward would be great in Heaven. Their martyrdom became a symbol of resistance against religious conversion and a testament to unwavering faith.

Let us pray to the #MartyrsBrâncoveni, that their sacrifice inspires us to defend our #OrthodoxChristian faith and remain true to #Christ even in the face of adversity. May their courage embolden us to live a life worthy of our calling. #Saints #Prayer
