Ermil, a deacon, and Stratonic, a prison guard, were martyred for their unwavering faith. Ermil openly confessed his belief in Christ during a time of persecution. Stratonic, secretly a Christian, was moved by Ermil's courage and revealed his own faith. Both were tortured relentlessly, but they refused to renounce Christ. Stratonic, initially hesitant, was strengthened by Ermil's steadfastness. They were eventually drowned in the Danube River for their devotion.
