St. Philotheia, a child of simple Romanian farmers, faced a cruel stepmother. One day, she gave food meant for her family to the poor. Enraged, her stepmother struck her with an axe, ending her young life. Her relics, now in Curtea de Argeș Monastery, are a source of healing and comfort for many.
