Hieromartyr Antim the Ivirian, a true Renaissance man of his time, was Metropolitan of Wallachia and a passionate advocate for the Romanian language. His life took a dramatic turn when he was falsely accused of treason. Despite the unjust accusations, he was exiled to a remote monastery on the Black Sea. The journey was brutal, and he was murdered en route. His last words are said to have been a prayer for his persecutors. May his intercessions guide us!
