In the reign of Julian the Apostate, Emilian, a young man, secretly entered a pagan temple and shattered the idols, leaving only a hammer behind. When questioned, he confessed his act boldly, declaring his faith in Christ. For this, he was sentenced to be burned alive. As the flames engulfed him, he remained steadfast, praying until his last breath.
