Niceta, Bishop of Remesiana, tirelessly converted the pagan Bessi tribe in present-day Romania, through gentle teaching and personal example in the late 4th century. He composed hymns, catechized converts, and emphasized charity. Once, during a severe drought, his fervent prayers brought forth rain, convincing many of the power of Christ. His life exemplified pastoral care and evangelistic zeal.
