In his youth, Father Cleopa was known for his love of the Holy Scriptures. He would often spend hours in silent contemplation, memorizing vast portions of the Bible. Once, while pasturing his family's sheep, he was captured by communists. They threatened him, trying to make him renounce his faith, but he refused. He remained steadfast in his belief and was eventually released. From then on, his faith only grew stronger.
