Epictet, a priest, and Astion, his disciple, fearlessly preached Christ in Scythia Minor during Emperor Diocletian's reign. Arrested for converting pagans, they refused to sacrifice to idols, confessing Christ as the true God. Enduring tortures, including beatings and burnings, their faith remained unshaken. Miracles occurred: flames wouldn't burn them, and an angel freed them from prison. Finally, they were beheaded for their unwavering devotion. O Holy Martyrs, intercede for us that we may have such courage.
