A humble fisherman, Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, heard John the Baptist proclaim Jesus as the Lamb of God. Immediately, Andrew followed Jesus, spending the day with Him and recognizing Him as the Messiah. Andrew then found Peter and declared, "We have found the Messiah," leading his brother to Christ. He preached the Gospel throughout Scythia and Greece, establishing churches and enduring persecution. Tradition holds he was crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross.
