Saint Andrew, brother of Simon Peter, first-called Apostle. He preached the Gospel along the Black Sea, in Scythia, and Greece. Tradition holds he was crucified in Patras on an X-shaped cross. Even in agony, he continued to preach for two days until his death.

O Apostle Andrew, pray to God that we may be steadfast in our faith and spread the Gospel to all.
