The angel Gabriel appeared to Mary, a virgin pledged to Joseph, in Nazareth. He announced she would conceive and bear a son, Jesus, the Son of the Most High. Though perplexed, Mary humbly accepted God's will, declaring herself the Lord's servant. The Holy Spirit overshadowed her, and she conceived miraculously. Visited by Elizabeth, Mary proclaimed God's greatness in the Magnificat. She bore Jesus in Bethlehem and nurtured him.

Mother of God, intercede for us! May your example of obedience and faith guide us closer to Christ.
