Saint Priest Martyr Alexandru of Basarabia served his flock during turbulent times. When the Bolsheviks occupied Bessarabia, he openly defended the church and its faithful. His sermons preached resistance against the godless regime. Arrested for his faith, he was brutally tortured and eventually martyred for refusing to renounce Christ.
