During a military festival under Emperor Maximian in Durostorum, Saint Dassie, a Roman soldier, refused to participate in the pagan rituals, declaring himself a Christian. When ordered to dress in festive attire and offer sacrifices to idols, he firmly declined, stating his allegiance to Christ. Despite threats and temptations, Dassie remained steadfast. As punishment, he was commanded to clean the latrines of the barracks. Humbly accepting this, he performed the task, viewing it as an act of service to God. After a week of imprisonment and further attempts to sway him, Dassie was beheaded on November 20, 304 AD, remaining faithful to his Lord until his last breath.

O holy martyr Dassie, pray to God for us! #SaintDassie #OrthodoxChristian #Martyr #FaithfulServant #ChristianValues
