How did #banks change the world?

A #mortgage interest rate is about 6% varible in #Romania now and most people get it for 30 years. For example, in #Bucharest the monthly rate is about 600 usd on a 100k loan for a 2 bedroom apartment, while minimum salary is around 600usd and the medium salary is 1700usd. It's 30 years of slavery to the bank for having a place to sleep, eat and wash yourself.

Over 50 years ago, my grandparents built their house in a year from mud, straw, dung and water, with the help of their relatives. The land was almost free then, everyone had some. They spent close to nothing but helped each other every time someone built something.

At least two homeless people sleeping in the Bucharest train station will have something to eat tonight thanks to LibertyImp's 20k sats #zap. God bless you for your generosity!

Their stories are heart-breaking, some lost their houses in a fire, some are from fosterhouses and unable to find work, and they just sleep wherever they can.

We sometimes need to realize how lucky we are to have a warm bed, shelter and food in the fridge.

There is still hope for them, at least 2 charity associations are offering #food and mobile showers to them but shelters are very rare and most refuse to go there because they have to leave in the morning.
