      <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>After 9 days on <a href='/tag/nostr/'>#nostr</a> here's my honest opinion:<br>   ●I like:<br>- the <a href='/tag/christian/'>#Christian</a> <a href='/tag/bitcoineers/'>#Bitcoineers</a> community;<br>- that people fund <a href='/tag/charity/'>#charity</a> work.<br>   ●I don't like:<br>- part of the technical side of it;<br>- the bots.<br><br>How was the on-boarding as a <a href='/tag/newbie/'>#newbie</a> and how does it feel to be here?<br><br>Getting started was decent since I was familiar with public and private <a href='/tag/keys/'>#keys</a> but, oh boy, did I have a hard time setting up relays (there should be some default ones in the beginning), figuring out why I couldn't post images or videos and so on. I also got nervous a couple of time when <a href='/tag/zaps/'>#zaps</a> were not working due to the LN wallet issues.<br><br>On the community side, most people are awesome, smart, and they like to engage in constructive arguments. What I didn't like is when ai bots started to flood the comments, I then started to question everything here.<br><br>There are also <a href='/tag/generous/'>#generous</a> <a href='/tag/philanthropists/'>#philanthropists</a> who funded the charity I started as an experiment. People <a href='/tag/zapped/'>#zapped</a> over 64k sats for the homeless and I am forever grateful for their generosity ( 10k = 1 meal, 6 meals delivered until now and still have some sats to spend). <br><br>As a conclusion, I think the <a href='/tag/nostr/'>#nostr</a> ecosystem has a lot of potential, I share the same values with it, but I still can't recommend it to my non-techy friends due to some security concerns I have and the resource consumption on my android with the daily <a href='/tag/amethyst/'>#Amethyst</a> app. What I did is recommend it to my techy friends. <br><br>What I like most here is the community and this is why I decided to stay, for the people following <a href='/tag/dadstr/'>#dadstr</a>, <a href='/tag/christian/'>#Christian</a>, <a href='/tag/jesus/'>#Jesus</a>, <a href='/tag/asknostr/'>#asknostr</a> and <a href='/tag/bitcoin/'>#Bitcoin</a>, for the people welcoming every <a href='/tag/newbie/'>#newbie</a> under <a href='/tag/introductions/'>#introductions</a>.<br><br>Overall, well done and thank you <a href='/tag/nostr/'>#nostr</a> devs! </p>
