Saint Calistrat, born in Gorj, became a monk at Timișeni Monastery after a spiritual awakening. He later retreated to Vasiova for harsher asceticism. Villagers, witnessing his holiness and healing powers, sought his guidance. One day, during a severe drought, they implored him for rain. Calistrat, deeply moved, prayed fervently. Suddenly, thunder roared, and life-giving rain poured down, ending the drought and solidifying his reputation as a miracle worker. He reposed in peace and is celebrated for his unwavering faith and compassion.
