St. Hermes, a Roman soldier, embraced Christianity and openly confessed his faith, discarding his military belt. Dragged before Emperor Aurelian, he remained steadfast, enduring torture. Despite pleas from loved ones, Hermes refused to renounce Christ. Miracles occurred: his shackles broke, an angel healed his wounds, and he toppled idols. Astonished, 1,100 soldiers converted. Aurelian ordered Hermes beheaded.
