Martyr John, a merchant, was betrayed in Belgorod by a Venetian who sought to convert him to his faith. John refused, declaring his unwavering belief in Christ. Enraged, the Venetian delivered him to the city's governor, who tortured John relentlessly, demanding he renounce his faith. John endured beatings and mutilation, yet his spirit remained unbroken. Dragged behind a horse, he was finally beheaded. Christians secretly buried his relics, which later became a source of miracles and healing.

O, Holy #Martyr John, intercede for us that we may have strength in faith as you did.
