Born into a humble family in Banat, Joseph embraced monasticism at Partoș Monastery. Renowned for his ascetic life and wisdom, he was chosen as Metropolitan of Timișoara. Despite his high office, Joseph remained a shepherd of the people, healing the sick and comforting the afflicted. He was celebrated for his compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication to God. Even in death, his relics were said to work miracles.
