Confessor Sava Brancovici, Metropolitan of Ardeal, faced immense pressure from Calvinist Prince Apafi to convert to Calvinism. Sava steadfastly refused, defending the Orthodox faith. He was deposed, imprisoned, and suffered greatly for his beliefs. Even in captivity, he continued to minister to his flock through letters and encouraged them to remain true to Orthodoxy. Eventually, he was exiled. Let us pray that his courage inspires us to defend our faith without fear, always and everywhere!
