Dassius, a Roman soldier during Emperor Diocletian's reign, was chosen by his troop to represent them at the pagan festival of Saturnalia. A devout Christian, Dassius refused to participate in the idolatrous rituals. He openly declared his faith in Christ, rejecting the emperor's orders to worship false gods. For his steadfastness, he was subjected to torture and ultimately beheaded. His unwavering commitment to Christ, even in the face of death, serves as a testament to the strength found in faith.

O holy Martyr Dassius, intercede for us that we may have the courage to confess Christ always.
