Venerable Anthony of Iezeru Monastery, in the 16th century, lived as a hermit in a cave carved into the mountains. He dedicated himself to prayer and fasting. One day, a hunter stumbled upon his secluded dwelling, marveling at Anthony’s devotion. Inspired, the hunter left his worldly life to join Anthony, and together, they established a small monastic community, which later became the Iezeru Monastery. Anthony is remembered for his profound humility and unwavering commitment to God.
