St. Andrew, brother of St. Peter, was fishing in Galilee when Jesus called him to be an Apostle, making him the "first-called." He preached the Gospel across the Black Sea, in modern-day Romania, and Ukraine, facing persecution. Legend says he was crucified in Patras, Greece, on an X-shaped cross, now known as the St. Andrew's Cross.

Pray to St. Andrew, that we may be bold in sharing the Gospel and steadfast in our faith, like him. May his prayers guide us.
