Venerable John Iacob, after years of monastic struggle, retreated to a cave near the Jordan River. There, he lived as a hermit, dedicating himself to prayer and asceticism. Despite his desire for solitude, pilgrims often sought him out for guidance. One winter, a group of pilgrims arrived, exhausted and frostbitten. St. John, having almost no provisions, fervently prayed for help. Miraculously, a table appeared laden with warm food and drink, sustaining the pilgrims and revealing God’s boundless mercy through His humble servant.
