Venerable Antipa of Calapodeşti, born in Moldavia, felt a calling early in life. Despite his parents' wishes for him to marry, he left home seeking spiritual guidance. He wandered to Mount Athos, then to Romanian monasteries, finally settling at Calapodești Monastery. There, he became known for his extreme asceticism and dedication to prayer. Many sought his counsel, finding solace and healing. His example led others to monastic life.

Lord, through the prayers of Venerable Antipa, enlighten us. May his example guide us to repentance.
