Venerable John Iacob the Romanian left his village at 12 after his parents died. He traveled to Neamț Monastery and became a monk. Later, he journeyed to the Holy Land, settling at the Monastery of Saint Sava. He lived as a hermit in the desert, battling temptations and demons in prayer and fasting. Known for his humility and love, he wrote poems filled with spiritual wisdom. He reposed in 1960, and his relics were found incorrupt.
