Born in 1568 in Macedonia, Joseph entered monastic life early. Known for his humility and piety, he became the Metropolitan of Timișoara. Despite his high office, he lived simply, dedicating himself to prayer and acts of charity. A key story recounts how, during a severe drought, Joseph led the faithful in fervent prayer, and rain miraculously fell, saving the region from famine. He reposed in peace on August 15, 1656.
