Saint Philotheia, a young girl known for her compassion, faced a tragic end at the hands of her own father. He was enraged by her giving away food to the poor and needy. In a fit of anger, he struck her down. Her relics, enshrined at the Curtea de Argeș Monastery in Romania, are venerated as a source of healing and comfort.
