Niceta, Bishop of Remesiana, in the late 4th century, tirelessly preached the Gospel to the Barbarians dwelling along the Danube. He converted many to Christianity, instructing them in faith and baptizing them. Niceta is best remembered for his missionary zeal and theological writings, especially his explanations of the Creed. He is credited with composing the hymn "Te Deum," a song of praise still sung in churches today.
