On August 15, 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu of Wallachia and his four sons—Constantin, Ștefan, Radu, and Matei—were beheaded in Constantinople after refusing to renounce their Christian faith for Islam. Constantin ruled Wallachia for 25 years, a period marked by peace and cultural flourishing. Despite political pressures from the Ottoman Empire, he remained a steadfast defender of Christianity. Offered wealth and power in exchange for conversion, Constantin and his sons chose martyrdom, becoming symbols of faith and resilience against religious oppression. Their courage inspires believers to stand firm in their convictions. Let us pray for their intercession, that we may emulate their unwavering commitment to God.
