Holy Martyr Emilian, during Julian the Apostate's reign, bravely shattered pagan idols in Durostorum. Arrested and brought before the authorities, he openly confessed his Christian faith, refusing to deny Christ. For his steadfastness, he endured severe beatings. Emilian was then condemned to be burned alive. As the flames consumed him, his body remained unharmed until he surrendered his spirit to God.
