Venerable Paisie, born in humility, yearned for monastic life from youth. A skilled carpenter before tonsure, he built not just with wood but with fervent prayer. As a spiritual guide, he emphasized inner stillness and the Jesus Prayer. One day, a lost traveler sought shelter. Paisie welcomed him, offering food and comfort. The next morning, the traveler confessed he'd planned to rob the monastery but, seeing Paisie's genuine love, repented. Paisie’s compassion transformed a would-be thief into a brother.
