Martyr Hermes, once a high-ranking official, fearlessly confessed Christ before Emperor Maximian. Despite brutal torture – beatings, burnings, and being forced to run in iron boots – Hermes remained steadfast in his faith. An angel healed his wounds, and through Hermes' prayers, a sorcerer's demons were cast out, leading to the sorcerer's and many others' conversion to Christianity. Ultimately, Hermes was beheaded for refusing to renounce Christ.
