With a much smaller army, Stephen prayed fervently and prepared his troops. At the Battle of Vaslui, through brilliant strategy and unwavering faith, Stephen decisively defeated the Ottoman forces, halting their advance into Eastern Europe. After the victory, he built the Putna Monastery as thanksgiving to God. His life exemplified courage and devotion, preserving his people and faith.
