Venerable Dimitrie the New, a humble shepherd, was found near the Basarabi village cave. After death, his relics remained untouched, radiating light. A paralyzed girl, during a Tartar invasion, was miraculously healed when she touched his forgotten relics floating in the Arges River. Locals, guided by a divine vision, recovered and sheltered them in the village church.
