Venerable Nicodim of Tismana, a 14th-century monk, founded Tismana Monastery in Romania. A Serbian by birth, Nicodim embraced monasticism early in life. Guided by divine inspiration, he selected a secluded spot at Tismana for his hermitage, which grew into a significant monastic center under his leadership. Renowned for his piety and wisdom, Nicodim translated religious texts into Romanian and fostered spiritual growth among the local population. His life was marked by asceticism, prayer, and dedication to God.
