Venerable Theodora lived in the 17th century, daughter of pious parents. After years of marriage, she and her husband entered monastic life. Theodora, tonsured as a nun, excelled in fasting and prayer. Later, with her abbot's blessing, she withdrew to a more secluded hermitage in the Carpathian Mountains near Sihla, Romania. There, in a cave, she intensified her ascetic struggles, enduring extreme cold, hunger, and spiritual trials. Her sanctity attracted others seeking guidance. After a God-inspired warning she communed one last time and reposed, leaving a legacy of profound dedication to God through prayer and solitude.
