Martyr Dassie, a Roman soldier during Emperor Maximian's reign, was chosen as standard-bearer for the feast of Saturn. A devout Christian, he refused to participate in the pagan rituals, declaring his faith in Christ. For this act of defiance, he was subjected to torture and ultimately beheaded. His steadfast belief and courage inspired many to embrace Christianity.
