Stephen the Great, Prince of Moldavia, faced a daunting challenge in 1475 when the Ottoman Empire, led by Sultan Mehmed II, sought to conquer his lands. Vastly outnumbered, Stephen prayed fervently for divine aid before the Battle of Vaslui. Inspired, he rallied his troops and employed brilliant tactics, achieving a miraculous victory against the much larger Ottoman army. After the battle, instead of boasting, Stephen attributed the triumph to God, building a church on the battlefield as a testament to his faith.
