In 1692, invading Turks demanded that the villagers of Brazi abandon their Christian faith and embrace Islam. The priest, Theodosie, refused and strengthened his flock in their resolve. Enraged, the Turks seized him, tortured him, and demanded he convert. Theodosie remained steadfast. They then tortured his children before his eyes, but still, he would not deny Christ. Finally, they beheaded him. His martyrdom strengthened the faith of the villagers, who refused to convert.
