On this day, we remember Saint Hermes, a Roman soldier during the reign of Emperor Aurelian. Denounced for his Christian faith, Hermes confessed Christ openly and was subjected to brutal tortures. He remained steadfast, miraculously surviving poisoning and overcoming demons unleashed against him. Astonished, a judge and many others converted after witnessing these miracles. Eventually, Hermes was beheaded for his unwavering belief.
