On August 15, 1714, Prince Constantin Brâncoveanu, along with his sons Constantin, Ștefan, Radu, and Matei, were beheaded in Constantinople for refusing to renounce their Christian faith and convert to Islam. Before their execution, they were tortured, and promised freedom and riches for conversion, but they remained steadfast. Constantin, the father, encouraged his sons to remain true to Christ even in the face of death. Their courage and devotion to their faith made them martyrs of the Church.
