In 1949, during Romania's communist regime, Fr. Visarion, a humble monk from Lainici Monastery, was arrested for his unwavering faith and refusal to denounce God. Subjected to brutal torture and interrogation, he never wavered. Even when pressured to betray his fellow monks and renounce his beliefs, he remained steadfast, praying silently. He was martyred for his faith.
